Mobile massage is awesome!

My first qualification in the fitness industry was massage.  Swedish massage followed by Sports massage.  That’s the order you have to do your qualifications in, and I enjoy doing them both.  I am happy to say I can now provide a mobile massage service.

Since I began personal training,  my massage has kind of taken a back seat.  Mainly because if someone books a relaxing massage, thats what I like them to get.   The environment of a gym or training studio can be far from relaxing.  There can be a lot of grunting noises, swearing (sometimes), and loud energetic music providing the background to your ‘relaxing’ massage.  Not any more, not now that I can provide mobile massage.

Relax at home

Now I have created Fitness At Home, I have dusted down my trusty massage table, ordered a whole lot of new towels, pillows, bolsters and oils and I’m ready to go.

What is great about having mobile massage is that you can create the ambience, and you don’t have to travel anywhere after your massage.

Perhaps you have the misconception that massage is only something for people who play sport or work out at the gym everyday.  This simply isn’t true.  A massage has many benefits for the mind and the body, for everyone.

With my mobile massage you can choose a relaxing and therapeutic massage, which for a truly relaxing treatment can also include a face, head, and foot massage.  Or if you have specific areas of pain you can opt for a sports or remedial massage.   This is a deeper massage and directed to ease discomfort in the problem area.

A massage is also a great opportunity for you to just have some ‘me’ time.  If you are busy looking after everyone else, an hour out to indulge yourself will make you feel refreshed and relaxed.

If you don’t know, or need a reminder, here are a few of the benefits of a regular massage;

It counteracts all the sitting that you do

Most of us have some kind of postural stress, which more often than not affects the neck and shoulders.  If you sit at a desk all day you may suffer from pain and weakness in the lower back caused by prolonged periods of sitting.

It eases muscle pain

Having a massage increases and improves circulation.  It helps to rid the muscle of toxins whilst introducing the flow of fresh blood and nutrients into the muscle.  This will help repair any damage.

It soothes anxiety and depression

Human touch in a safe, friendly and professional context can be very therapeutic and relaxing.  Massage soothes, relaxes and improves the mood.

It improves sleep

Massage encourages a deep state of relaxation and rest which can positively affect sleep.  Studies have shown that massage increases serotonin, which increases the melatonin and helps circadian rhythms to reset.

It boosts immunity

A 2010 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that massage boosts the white blood cell count.  This plays a large role in defending the body from disease.

It relieves headaches

If you are prone to headaches, try a regular massage.  A massage can decrease the frequency and severity of tension headaches by relieving tension in the upper back, shoulders and neck, as well as calming the mind.

Are you tempted?

If you’re still not sure whether a massage is for you, contact me and we can have a chat, or just contact me and we can book you in.   I promise you won’t regret it.
